Led Zeppelin’s IV may not only be the band's defining album, but the album that encapsulates the entire genre of hard rock. From the moment Robert Plant’s vocals come screeching in on“Black Dog,” till the final notes fade away from Jimmy Page’s guitar on“When The Levee Breaks,” IV is a powerhouse of sound.
The iconic album artwork is centered around a painting of a man collecting sticks that Robert Plant purchased at an antique shop. That piece of art was then nailed to a demolished home, photographed, then turned into music history as the cover of one of the greatest albums ever. Jimmy Page also implored each member of the band to pick their own personal emblems to be included in the IV album artwork, dubbed the“Zoso” logos due to how Page’s self-designed symbol looked. To this day Paige has never explained what his symbol means.
If you had to teach someone what rock is, handing them a copy of IV might be the best place to start. That’s why we love this shirt, featuring Plant’s hand-picked art on the front, and member symbols on the back. It’s a classic tee for a classic album; a true nod of respect to an album that changed music.
