From the moment the iconic opening “Blackened” riff faded in for the first time on radios across the world, Metallica had done it again. …And Justice For All also features one of Metallica’s greatest songs of all-time, “One,” which would go on to be the first song the band filmed a music video for.

Lars Ulrich came up with the concept of the iconic …And Justice For All album artwork. The design, featuring a shattering Lady Justice being pulled down while her scales spillover by society rebelling against social and political injustices. The final artists, brothers Roger and Stephen Gorman, drew inspiration from a statue they frequently saw in Frankfurt, Germany. Renown artist Pushead also contributed to the artwork …And Justice For All, creating the Hammer Of Justice design based on the title track’s lyrics. The gavel of justice swinging down, formed by the band members, is definitely a crushing piece of metal art.
