Metallica's ...And Justice For All - their fourth studio album - was the first to feature bassist Jason Newstead as part of the line-up, following the passing of bassist Cliff Burton in 1986. The album, recorded over four months at One on One Studios on Los Angeles, went fast with the tempo and deep in the lyrics.
With tracks like "Harvester of Sorrow's" descent into madness, the politically-charged "Eye of the Beholder," an anti-war anthem "One," the album isn't exactly shy about letting you know exactly how it's feeling. But the album's personal tone was celebrated, rather than shunned, earning Metallica their first Grammy and plenty of critical acclaim.
