Born in East Harlem in 1971, Tupac Shakur is considered one of the greatest rappers of all time. With lyrics that addressed pressing social issues, Shakur brought a voice to the inner city that many worldwide hadn't heard before. Though born on the East Coast,'Pac moved west in the '90s, carving a path for himself in the Los Angeles rap scene.
Shakur broke out with his debut album, 2PacalypseNow, which remains an influence to modern rappers. Before his life was tragically cut short in 1996, Tupac laid down four studio albums and left behind a legacy that remains influential to this day. As 50 Cent once noted,"every rapper who grew up in the Nineties owes something to Tupac."
