Steal Your Face Logo Design
White Grateful Dead Shirt
Founded in the San Francisco Bay area in the 1960s, the Grateful Dead epitomized the countercultural revolution of the same decade. The founding members were Jerry Garcia(lead guitar, vocals), Bob Weir(rhythm guitar, vocals), Ron“Pigpen” McKernan(keyboards, harmonica, vocals), Phil Lesh(bass, vocals), and Bill Kreutzmann(drums). The members played together in various bands including Mother McCree’s Uptown Jug Champions and the Warlocks.
The Steal Your Face album artwork featured on this tee is a red, white, and blue skull with a lightning bolt through it. The image was designed by Owsley Stanley and artist Bob Thomas, and was originally used as a logo to mark the band’s equipment. The album itself is a live double album released in June 1976. It was recorded between October 17-20, 1974, at San Francisco’s Winterland Ballroom during a farewell run that preceded a then-indefinite hiatus. It was the fourth and final album released by the band on their original Grateful Dead Records label.
