Originally released on 1st April 1996, A Maximum High is Shed Seven’s crowning recorded achievement to date, charting at number 8 and remaining on the Official UK Album Charts for a triumphant 37 weeks. The record spawned five hit singles: ‘Where Have You Been Tonight?’, ‘Getting Better', ‘Going For Gold’, ‘Bully Boy’ and ‘On Standby’, with the York band making appearances on Top Of The Pops no less than four different times during a momentous year.
A Maximum High 25th Anniversary 3LP is a triple vinyl reimagining of the album’s long-out-of-print Special Edition CD, newly remastered at Abbey Road. The Special Edition CD was originally released following the album’s final single on September 16th 1996, fortifying the record with a bonus CD featuring all the band’s 1994-1996 B-sides along with two newly recorded tracks. A Maximum High 25th Anniversary 3LP’s artwork has been faithfully reproduced from the exact Special Edition CD’s layout.
