The Berlin-based quintet Onom Agemo & the Disco jumper with his music creates a unique blend of world music, psychedelic, Space and jazz rock. The eight tracks from " Cranes And Carpets' bribe with polyrhythmic grooves, saxophones and psychedelic synths. The rather funky influences from Morocco, Ethiopia, analog synthesizers, organs and spacey effects and beautiful saxophone and flute lines make the whole thing into a sound adventure. The compositions are from well-traveled saxophonist John Schleiermacher, the band had even been to Morocco, where she played with Sufi brothers. This created an authentic mix of North African rhythms and moods, from jazz and electronica, which recalls both pioneers like William Onyeabor and Manu Dibango, but also to the Heliocentrics.
