The Bad Light is heavily rooted in Country Blues, the guitar playing style would feel equally at home coming out of a National resonator guitar as it does coming out of a fuzzed out Gibson SG, all done with open tunings and fingerpicking, just guitar and drums, a simple set up that allows for unusual interactions between the trifecta of drums, vocals and guitar. On this album we also employed the help of Emily Pegoda and Kristi Angeline, we felt that adding female vocals gave us a wider field of sound in which to play in while still keeping the root feel of our songs.
