One of the rarer and more mysterious Brazilian albums and one of the best examples of MPB in the mid-to-late 70s. More samba than bossa, this record has sophisticated phrasing that you might expect in some of the EMI/Odeon work from earlier in the decade. Cravo & Canela harmonies are reminiscent of Sergio Mendes in the 60s, but with soulful piano and beautiful layered vocals on the top. Tracks range from vintage Noel Rosa to latter-day originals by special guest Sivuca, all delivered with true Brazilian warmth.
