As early as the age of two, Emmie Kivell seemed destined for a different path than most young girls from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She began dance classes at that tender age, and soon became accustomed to the stage performing dance recitals. Excelling in gymnastics, ice skating, swimming and vocal lessons, her teachers noted even then that she was uniquely gifted and could easily pick up and adapt choreography. She found her voice when she started school and was often given the lead in musicals both in school and at her local church. "She made our front hallway her stage," her mother remembers. "She would set up the video camera on the tripod to record everything from a full-length version of the Nutcracker ballet to the evening weather report with a fan blowing winds and umbrellas. She and her young companions would star in plays and musicals." It was during this time that Emmie started to display her ability to pick up different instruments (piano and violin) and be able to play them by ear. At the age of 12, Emmie and her family moved to the North Texas area, where she signed on with an agent and began honing her acting skills. She found work in print, commercials, film and runway modeling. Upon graduation from high school, Emmie took the giant leap to Hollywood, where she takes classes by day at college, and burns brightly at night as one of Hollywood's up and coming stars. In 2006, she began making a name for herself, as a member of a five- member girls group, BabeeDoll, and most recently was a member of Bittersweet, a three girl R&B;/hip- hop group. She is now solo with the release of a 4 original song CD. Simply titled "Debut", the recordings showcase a variety of song styles to give listeners a "taste" of genres that reflect Emmie's influences and musical range. Penned by renowned producer/songwriter Scott "Cash" Callaway and co-produced by Callaway and Rob Wechsler, the songs cover such musical ground as electronica, pop ballads, and teen pop, and share similarities to current artists like Britney Spears, Janet Jackson and Mandy Moore. Plans and ideas are in the works for a full length album to be released in the future. Emmie brings an exuberant burst of energy as a talented vocalist to the current music scene. Watch for her to rise to the top with her passion for performing!
