Fai Baba (Fabian Sigmund) lives and works in Zürich, Switzerland. He's part of a new generation of psychedelic blues artists, whose songs hint at all sorts of genre-flogging: monster-boogie, toxic folk, garage-blues, psychedelic country… And that's what rattles the bones at his gigs. Audiences become transfixed, certain to hear one of the most unique new vocalists in Europe, as he leads his band-mates through some strange musical passages, that both defy ordinary description, and dare those in attendance to draw SOME correlation, to anything, anywhere, that they've ever heard before. Every song sounds mysterious, and carries home its mes-sage with the power of the blues; but Fai's life as a young, Caucasian Swiss man, ensures that the outcome is less Howling Wolf than that of a tortured soul, accused of heresy, and waiting for the pyre. Ostensibly, one might be tempted to refer to this disc as Garage Rock from Outer Space, but a deeper listen would belay that this trio of guitar, bass and drums have instead moved a universe of twisted blues, rock and indie ideas into their own, grungy garage.
