KITTY DAISY & LEWIS is a three-piece band comprising the siblings of the Durham family. Their music is influenced heavily by R&B, swing, jump blues, country and Western, blues, Hawaiian and rock 'n' roll. They are all multi-instrumentalists playing guitar, piano, banjo, lapsteel guitar, harmonica, double bass, ukulele, drums, trombone, xylophone and accordion between them. Kitty Durham is the youngest of the group and primarily sings and plays drums, harmonica, ukulele, banjo, trombone and guitar. 'Bye Bye Baby' is only indistinguishable from Mike Read's 'UKIP Calypso' by it's lyrics which concern a doomed romantic liaison rather than whining about foreigners coming over to take all the jobs that US Brits are too lazy to get up off our fucking arses to do. It's very summery. Which makes you wonder why it's been released in deepest darkest December. Overleaf is a "dub" version which is no King Tubby bass exploration, and instead adds a booming bass line and takes off the cod calypso. Produced by Mick Jones of the Clash. It's a funny old world.
