1001° Centigrades, Magma's second album, was released in 1971. The band underwent several personnel changes before it's release, including the departure of guitarist Claude Engel and the addition of Louis Toesca on Trumpet and Jeff Seffer on sax and bass clarinet replacing Alain Charley and Richard Raux. This is the second installment in the Kobaïan saga, it chronicles the alien races return to earth to save the planet. Sonically, it is more is more jazz fusion based than their later albums.
