Jessi Colter is best known in conjunction with her husband the late WAYLON JENNINGS, and was the only significant female singer/songwriter to emerge from the mid seventies 'outlaw' movement. She recorded a number of albums in the seventies and eighties for CAPITAL RECORDS. 'Out of the Ashes' originally released in 2006, was her first record in over 20 years. Contributors to the album include TONY JOE WHITE, DON WAS - who also produced the album, her son SHOOTER JENNINGS, and WAYLON himself. It is an album about grieving and loss, yet embraces a new life that honours the past. The big surprise is an old tape with WAYLONS backing vocal on it that was spliced onto the track 'Out of the Rain' that was co-written with TONY JOE WHITE.
