Metallica changed the music world with the release of Master Of Puppets, then proceeded to shred their way across the U.S and Europe with the Damage Inc. Tour, named after the final track off of the album. Metallica traveled from March 27, 1986, thru February 13, 1987, shredding arenas to the ground for nearly an entire year. This tour also marks the final months founding bassist Cliff Burton played with the band before his tragic death.
The famous Damage Inc. Tour artwork was created by Brian“Pushead” Schroeder, an artist known for his expertise in skull and skeleton designs. The band relied on him to encapsulate their brutal metal sound, and he absolutely nailed it with the barbed wire bat and skull design. Pushead also worked with other legends like Dr. Dre and The Misfits, if you’re wondering about his credentials. Metallica worked with him extensively throughout the years, creating iconic pieces of art we’re thrilled to feature.
