Big hair, tight pants, and rock and roll. Poison, along with the other hair metal acts of the 1980s, ruled L.A.’s Sunset Strip. The band rocketed to mainstream fame with their 1986 debut, Look What the Cat Dragged In, and followed it up with hits like the tortured love ballad“Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” and the arena rock anthem“Nothin’ But a Good Time.”
With just a short break in the‘90s, the core members of the original lineup—Brett Michaels, Rikki Rocket, Bobby Dall, and C.C. Deville—have stayed together, touring and releasing new records for over thirty years. According to Rolling Stone, Poison is now the last true hair metal band standing.
