Black Sacred Reich Shirt
Arizona thrash metal outfit, Sacred Reich was among a few bands that ushered in the second throng of the thrash metal movement in the late 1980’s. With a strong political bend to their music, albums like Ignorance, The American Way and Independence introduced audiences to their signature blend of sociopolitical speed metal in a way that couldn’t be ignored. The band broke up in 2000 only to reunite in 2006 for a series of live tours.
Following Sacred Reich’s debut album, Surf Nicaragua continued to explore themes of politics and war which are clearly evident in the title track as well as original song“One Nation” calling America to unite on all issues of racism and discrimination. Paul Stottler created the cover artwork, illustrating a surfer riding a coffin and wielding a bomb—now that’s how you round out a politically charged album.
