Lady Gaga embarked on a soul-searching journey throughout the creation of her fifth studio album Joanne, and ultimately the 14 tracks that came out were to show for it. She was heavily influenced by the country genre, ultimately leaning into her vocals and songwriting to deliver a stripped-down record compared to much of her discography. It was a new sound for Gaga, but she didn't shy away from doing something different.
Joanne is a deep, introspective journey that comes across as the most personal set of Lady Gaga recordings yet. The process was very involved for everyone, and Gaga was hands-on all the way through the final mastering session. This shot of the megastar playing the piano during the Joanne recording sessions is capturing just a glimpse of a true artist at work.
