Gregory Isaacs was one of the most influential reggae musicians of all time. Milo Miles, writing in The New York Times, described Isaacs as "the most exquisite vocalist in reggae". In 2016, it was announced that the Jamaican government would posthumously award Isaacs the Order of Distinction (Officer Class) in recognition of his contribution to the country's music.
