When a band revolves around a duo of brothers as talented as the Angus brothers, it’s not surprising that AC/DC became and remain so popular. Formed in Sydney in 1973, the band themselves describe themselves as simply“rock and roll.” The band has sold over 200 million records worldwide, including 71.5 million albums in the United States. In 2010, VH1 ranked AC/DCin its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
Highway to Hell is the sixth studio album by AC/DC, released in July 1979. Angus Young recalled the use of“Highway to Hell” as their title track name:“Just because you call an album‘Highway to Hell’ you get all kinds of grief. And all we’d done is describe was it’s like to be on the road for four years like we’d been. A lot of it was bus and car touring, with no real break. You crawl off the bus at four o’clock in the morning, and some journalist is doing a story and he says‘What would you call anAC/DC tour?” Well, it was a highway to hell. It really was. When you’re sleeping with the singer’s socks two inches from your nose, that’s pretty close to hell. Design Details Front
