While guitarist Ray Tabano only stayed with Aerosmith for one year, he left a mark - a brand even - that remains with the group to this day: their iconic, winged logo. Originating in 1974 on the cover of their second studio album, Get Your Wings, the band has kept some variation of the‘winged A’ as a symbol of their work ever since.
The logo is also a totem to the later success of the band. After a first studio album that debuted to little fanfare, Get Your Wings arrived with acclaim, propelling the band up the charts. With songs that were developed with less interest in fame and more attention to heart, Aerosmith was able to craft an album that was truer to themselves and debuted a unique style that resonates to this day.
