One of the singles from America's 1972 album Homecoming, "Ventura Highway" is a sort of reminiscence of the band's a writer/vocalist Dewey Bunnell. As a boy, his family got stuck on Pacific Coast Highway with a flat tire. The song found resonance with fans, remaining one of America's most fondly-remembered tunes.

One of the song's biggest fans turned out to be wrestler-turned-governor Jesse Ventura, who had adopted his stage name - in part - because of the tune. In fact, Gov. Ventura requested America play at his inaugural and they obliged, playing both "Ventura Highway" for the governor and "A Horse with No Name" for Ventura's wife - a noted horse aficionado.
