The Eaglesare widely considered legends of‘70s rock. An American band from Los Angeles, California, the founding members include guitarist/vocalist Glen Frey, drummer/vocalist Don Henley, guitarist/vocalist Bernie Leadon, and bassist/vocalist Randy Meisner. Their self-titled debut album put them on the map with three Top 40 singles:“Take It Easy,”“Witchy Woman” and“Peaceful Easy Feeling.”
Their Greatest Hits(1971-1975) is a compilation album featuring songs from their first four records. Released in 1976, it was the best-selling album of the 20th century in the U.S. and stayed on top until Michael Jackson’s Thrillerwas re-released after his death in 2009. Their Greatest Hits was also the first album to receive the RIAA Platinum award after selling one million copies in the first year. It was a certified 38x Platinum in 2018.
