U.S. Blues Steal Your Face Design
Grey Grateful Dead Shirt
Formed in Palo Alto, California in 1965, the Grateful Dead is known for eclectic style, live performances, and a loyal fan base known as the“Deadheads.” The group is known as the pioneering Godfathers of the jam band world. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. Since the death of Jerry Garcia in 1995 there have been multiple spinoff bands and tours consisting of the members of Grateful Dead.
“Red and white, blue suede shoes, I'm Uncle Sam, how do you do?” This shirt encapsulates the raw drive the song“U.S. Blues” has from the album Steal Your Face. Released as a double-live album in 1976, Steal Your Face recorded as part of a farewell run preceding the band’s indefinite hiatus and it was the fourth and final album released on the Grateful Dead Records label. The tour, recorded for the record, featured the band’s“Wall of Sound” averaging over 600 speakers powered by a minimum of 48 600-watt amplifiers. The logo on the shirt was originally designed Owsley Stanley and artist Bob Thomas, and was originally used as a logo to mark the band’s equipment.
