IV The Hermit Artwork & ZOSO Logos Design
Black Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin is widely regarded as one of the greatest rock bands of all time. Their untitled fourth album, referred to as IV, was released on November 8, 1971, by their Atlantic Records. The album features one of the band’s most famous songs,“Stairway to Heaven.” Written mostly by guitarist Jimmy Page, the song plays out a mystical quest to the past through music and features an iconic six-minute guitar solo.
Each of the band members is said to have designed their own rune symbol for the IV artwork. Bassist John Paul Jones and drummer John Bonham chose their runes from a book called Book of Signs. Singer Robert Plant’s symbol is said to represent a civilization from a lost continent. The page never explained the meaning behind his rune, Zoso.“The Hermit” illustration appears on the inside album cover and is based on a Tarot card by the same name. It represents soul-searching, self-discovery, and inner guidance.
