Formed in 2001, Minus the Bear represent a sort of Seattle supergroup - including current and former members of the bands' Botch, Kill Sadie, and Sharks Keep Moving. Their synth-powered sound broke onto the scene with their debut album, Highly Refined Pirates, in 2002.
2005's Menos el Oso(Spanish for"Minus the Bear") saw some shifts in the line-up but continued the band's exploration into new sounds. That work continued through 2007's Planet of Ice, 2010's Omni, 2012's Infinity Overhead, and their most recent album - 2017's Voids. In 2018, the group announced a farewell tour and retired with a final show at Seattle's Showbox.
