Radiohead is an English rock band formed in 1985. The band members met as kids while attending a school for boys in Oxfordshire. Frontman Thom Yorke and bassist Colin Greenwood were in the same year, instrumentalist Jonny Greenwood(Colin’s brother) was two years below, and guitarist Ed O’Brien and drummer Philip Selway were the year above. They bristled at the school’s strict rules, and credited their music teacher for introducing them to jazz, avant-garde and film scores. Radiohead’s earliest musical influences included Bob Dylan, Queen, Elvis Costello and Pink Floyd.
“Fitter Happier” is a track on their 1997 album OK Computer. The less-than-two minute insert is a commentary on modern life and how artificial it has become. In an interview with Guitar Magazine, York talked about the song as a checklist of‘90s slogans, calling it“the most upsetting thing I’ve ever written.”
