- Black Soundgarden Shirt
One of the greatest losses in rock n’ roll was Chris Cornell in 2017. Pay tribute to the Seattle-based band with this iconic shirt. Soundgarden, formed in 1984 by Cornell, was one of the seminal creators of grunge rock. They were the first grunge band to sign to a major label (A&M Records) though they didn’t achieve commercial success until the early ‘90s. With Grammy-award winning singles “Spoonman” and “Black Hole Sun,” Soundgarden has sold an estimated 25 million albums worldwide.
Badmotorfinger was their third studio album released in September 1991. The album increased the band’s focus on songwriting while keeping their heavy metal sound. Badmotorfinger is considered by AllMusic to be “Surprisingly cerebral and arty” and consisted of singles like “Outshined” and “Rusty Cage.” The logo on this shirt was featured on the album cover of Badmotorfinger. The art was illustrated by guitarist Mark Dancey and the title was a joke on the Montrose song “Bad Motor Scooter.”
