When you see the legendary Misfits skeleton peering into your soul there's no mistaking it. The iconic skull design the Misfits began using in 1979 — taken from a poster used to promote the horror series "The Crimson Ghost" back in 1946 — is one of the most recognizable band logos of all-time. It's on tees, coffee mugs, action figures, hoodies, socks... you name it, you can get a Misfits skull design version of it.
There are two reasons for that, of course. Yes, the design of the skull itself is as good as it gets, but the Misfits are one of the greatest bands to ever shred. Whether it was their early days creating the horror punk subgenre, their blazing-fast hardcore stretch, or the heavy metal style they transitioned to later, the Misfits have stood the test of time. One of the truly great rock bands that molded punk rock in the '70s and '80s.
