You Won’t Part With Yours Either Design
White Fender Shirt
In the 1960s, guitar maker Fender hoped to go from regional brand to national sensation, so they enlisted the skills of ad man Bob Perine. Between 1957 and 1969, Perine produced countless ads for Fender, including the very successful"You Won't Part With Yours Either" campaign.
Showing Fender owners unable to part with their guitars, the posters ranged from the sublime(a young man getting a haircut) to the ridiculous(a fully-clad skydiver strumming on his Fender). The company was sold to CBS in 1965, which led to cost-cutting measures reviled by Fender fans. In fact, a group of Fender lovers banded together to buy back Fender from CBS in 1985 and have expanded the manufacturer into the international market.
