As a mountain musician from the bluegrass tradition, Sutton is esteemed in the school of American guitar that includes Doc Watson, Norman Blake, and Tony Rice. He has even won a Grammy for his duet recording with Watson and has brought home the International Bluegrass Music Association award for Guitarist of the Year six times and counting. After being around the songwriting culture of Nashville for years, Sutton found himself figuring out what he wanted to say, and what kind of songwriter he wanted to be. Longtime fans will be gratified that his explorations have only drawn him closer to the mountain music and bluegrass on which he was raised. Featuring such guests as Noam Pikelny (Punch Brothers) and Tim O’Brien (Hot Rize), The More I Learn is one of the most honest and personal efforts the guitar virtuoso has ever put forth.
