If there's anyone who knows how to write a solid hook to hang a song on, it's Winnipeg singer/songwriter Sandy Taronno. While he's penned his fair share of soaring, radio-friendly gems with his critically acclaimed pop-rock band Quinzy, his new solo project, Indicator Indicator, finds him working outside of the pop bubble, experimenting with new textures and arrangements but not at the expense of those indelible hooks. Of course, Sandy's no stranger to ambitious projects - this is a guy, after all, who wrote a fully realized three-part EP series with Quinzy and annually helms Quinzmas, a hugely popular alternative Christmas show in his hometown of Winnipeg. Indicator Indicator is the exciting (and logical) next step for this forward-thinking artist.
