Following 2 hugely popular singles on the Freestyle imprint 'sGet it On' and 'So Fine') the maverick sample slinger Sleeve returns with another slice of cut up funk for the dancefloor. As with his last outings, the familiar breaks come thick and fast: there's not much time for untapped dusty breaks here: just a bunch of solid, recognizable and well loved licks that will get the feet moving and the heads nodding. First up Sleeve throws together a familiar bunch on the bumping summertime vibes of 'Life': showing that there is still life in even the most rinsed of breaks and that a simple funky formula can have a devastating effect on the dancefloor. Next up is a bit of a treat: To quote Mr Jimmy Castor 'we're gonna go back'way back' for those old enough to remember 'Hipness' the first time round it will need no introduction. For those not familiar, what you have in your hand is the very first musical outing by Sleeve from way back in 1995. Selling initially only through Soul Jazz Records it went onto sell 1,500 copies through that one shop alone before finally getting a full distribution deal and selling in excess of 5,000 copies.
