You can’t keep a good band down. With ceaseless, unwavering fan support, The Aggrolites reconvened in late 2015 to lay down three songs, “Aggro Reggae Party,” “Help Man” and “Western Taipan,” which reminded them that, hey, they’re still pretty damn good at this. They never gave up, thankfully! That one-off recording session was the spark that eventually created this album, certainly their best to date. REGGAE NOW! is the Aggrolites’ sixth full-length, and first with Pirates Press Records. Written and recorded throughout 2018, the album finds these architects of “Dirty Reggae” reestablishing their signature sound, re-recording those three songs from 2015 as well as adding on 11 more originals that snap, crackle and pop just as much as your favorite Aggro songs from back in the day. “We wanted to keep it real,” (singer) Jesse Wagner notes. “...to keep it natural: Simple, two-chord reggae. It’s feel-good music. We know what people like out of us. Let’s just be us.” While it took nearly a decade to get the Aggrolites back into a cohesive creative headspace, it took a fraction of the time to actually lay down music—the band knocked out all the basic rhythm tracks for REGGAE NOW! in one day in early 2018. “We like to do it old-school, like a Motown band,” Wagner adds. “There’s that whole atmosphere and energy—get in a room and let that energy flow. We felt like teenagers again in a garage band. That came out in this record.” “Their tunes perfectly echo the human chemistry you can hear in those early Jamaican productions,” says reggae icon Don Letts. “The band’s old-school analog sound totally captures the spirit of the music I grew up on.” “The Aggrolites have stretched out, and gotten it even more right, at exactly the right time,” agrees Lynval Golding, vocalist/guitarist for Two-Tone legends the Specials. “This is THE album.” With the needle dropping on REGGAE NOW!, The Aggrolites will hit the road this summer for their first full U.S. tour in six years, and head to Europe for an equally impressive stint later in the year. This is the album that started it all. Cock Sparrer has "Shock Troops." Rancid has “Let’s Go." The Aggrolites have "Dirty Reggae;" and off the back of this album emerged a scene embracing that term itself, that would grow to be bigger than the band could ever be.
“Dirty Reggae" is now in-and-of-itself a category of reggae that has taken the world by storm over the past decade-and-a-half.
15 years after the original release of this pinnacle record, Pirates Press Records and Axe Records have teamed up to repress "Dirty Reggae,” and make it widely available to all those who haven’t been able to find this classic for a long time! This includes the first ever time the album has been done as a digipak.
Nobody could’ve guessed at the time, preparing an assembly of musicians to support classic reggae artist Derrick Morgan, that the project would lead to a band that has truly changed the face of Reggae.
As with other classic albums, from the moment the needle touches down, the music takes the listener to a special place; in this case, one that has and continues to inspire others to build upon what this integral band has started.
This ‘standard’ version brings this truly important record back into press, in a way that can be accessible to a whole new generation of Reggae (and vinyl) lovers across the globe. The Aggrolites

After exploding onto the scene and turning just about every head in the reggae and ska world with their debut LP "Dirty Reggae", this upstart group of hooligans set their sights on bigger stages, and new opportunities. 
With those leagues of new fans and burgeoning aspirations came lasting friendships and partnerships with Tim Armstrong and others in the Rancid/Hellcat/Epitaph family. They saw, heard and quickly dove in, supporting in the potential of this truly unique group any way possible.
This, their self-titled LP debut on Hellcat Records (originally released in 2006) really became the fuel in the tank sending this band across the globe and back, bringing their ‘dirty reggae’ to the masses.
Shockingly, the vinyl has been out of print for far too long - and being a key piece of the band's history, and a staple for many of us Pirates, we absolutely couldn’t let that persist.
With huge thanks to Epitaph/Hellcat and everyone who has made this record what it is to so many millions of people, the Pirates are unbelievably proud to bring you this repress - a true gem, in all its brilliance! The Aggrolites delivered a third album that completely busted the myth that surrounds this often difficult time in a band’s career. In 2007 they released this phenomenal record, containing what many consider their best ever track “Free Time.” This explosive album just built upon a momentum and trajectory that just continued to build steam and take them to new heights.
Some of the real burners on this record still remain in the band’s live set, but for whatever reason, this one never made its way onto vinyl… until now.
Using what could be unearthed of the original design, Pirates Press Records is proud to give this fantastic album new legs, and to give fans and collectors alike something very special to commemorate this period of the band’s history.

Now an established force in the reggae world, the Aggrolites just kept pumping out a steady stream of toe-tapping adventures all the way through the first decade of the 2000’s. This, their third and final album released by Hellcat showcased the talent and synergy that caused so many to dance and sing along.
To many fans, this album really represents the point when this band permanently affixed themselves as a ‘forever’ staple in the reggae world. It was broadcast far and wide thanks to the support of Hellcat/Epitaph, and just like the tunes, the band was carried far and wide too - literally. Nonstop. 
As much as it represents permanency for many, it also marks a change for the band - to take on more responsibility, and seize the opportunity to grab the reigns and carve out a more tailored next chapter. "IV" would be their last album on Hellcat, but it would by no means be the last thing heard from these passionate and illustrious cats. Quite the contrary.
