Limited 180gm purple vinyl LP pressing. Accidentally On Purpose is an album by Deep Purple members Ian Gillan and Roger Glover, released in February 1988 on Virgin Records. The track ‘Lonely Avenue’ appeared on the soundtrack to Rain Man featuring Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise. The track ‘Telephone Box’ reached #15 on Billboard charts. The album features musical assistance from Dr. John, Andy Newmark, Randy Brecker, and other studio greats. Accidentally On Purpose’s release followed the reunion of the MKII line up of Deep Purple and the recording of their albums The House Of Blue Light and Nobody’s Perfect. Gillan was ousted (at Richie Blackmore’s behest) in 1989.
