Cyril Davies helped to pioneer electric blues in Britain as part of Chris Barbers band in 1960 alongside guitarist Alexis Korner, before the pair of them set up Blues Incorporated, the first amplified R&B band in the country. In November 1962, Davies left the band to form his own Cyril Davies' All-Stars with members recruited from Screaming Lord Sutchs Savages. He released two singles in 1963, Country Line Special / Chicago Calling' (at the time the only British single that 'American Only' purists bought) and 'Preachin' the the Blues/Sweet Mary'. He passed away in 1964 at only 31. It remains undisputed that he was the greatest harmonica player in this country at that time. Listen to him wail again. Track list: Chicago Calling, See See Rider, Country Line Special, Hey Roberta, Roll Em Pete.
