One of Hollywood’s Sunset Strip staples, Warrant burst onto the airwaves with 1989’s Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich, and the smash hit “Heaven.” Shortly after, the glam metal band followed it up with the album Cherry Pie, which contained the hit anthem “Cherry Pie,” and charted Warrant back into the Billboard Top 10.

“Cherry Pie,” the single was purportedly written by frontman Jani Lane in fifteen minutes on a pizza box in order to satisfy the label’s request for another big single, and the lead guitar solo was performed by Poison’s C.C. Deville. The song’s music video and album artwork feature the actress and model Bobbie Jean Brown, who also appeared in music videos for the metal bands Hurricane and Great White.
