Def Leppard's sophomore album, High 'N' Dry, wasn't a strikeout success, but the band's work with producer Mutt Lange helped crystalize their sound. The band's new sound found exposure not on radio, but TV, with MTV featuring the video for the album's "Bringin' On the Heartbreak" - one of the first metal videos they'd ever played.

The new visibility led to new listeners, with the band heading out on tours of the United States and Europe throughout 1981 and '82. Over the course of the tour, the band opened for legends like Ozzy Osbourne, helping solidify their place amongst metal's greatest.
